In Sanskrit, the language of yoga, Sangha means community. Community is SO important in all areas of life. We are social beings and we draw on support, encouragement and inspiration from those close to us. A yoga community brings another level of support on our spiritual journeys.

I have been teaching Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes in Tavistock, Devon for the last 2 years. Prior to this I taught yoga classes in Brighton for 6 years, Kent for 2 years, and whilst travelling different countries in the past. It is an absolute pleasure and honour hanging out with yogis each week to teach classes. No matter how I’ve felt, or if my energy was low, every class has filled me up with peace, joy and gratitude for the work I do.

I love being a witness to student’s journey’s and my heart is filled by hearing stories of how coming to a yoga class has helped their life in some way with the magic of yoga.

I am sadly finishing my yoga classes for now to focus on yoga teacher training and mentoring for yoga teachers.

The sangha continues though, weaving and expanding, ever touched by soul paths and spirit journeys. Sanghas live on, past, present, future, maybe we’ve sat in circle before in another life. I have travelled and moved around a lot in my life and I can see how sangha is everywhere we go, everywhere we choose. If you are ever feeling alone, isolated, or left out, somewhere, just around the corner, a sangha is waiting for you with open arms.

Plus one of my favourite things about teaching yoga classes is I get to make lots of yogi friends!!! 🙂
